    Headlight washer covers slightly recessed

This is something that has subtly bothered me for some time now. Before anyone gives me crap, I searched, but all the results appear to be related more to deleting the headlight washers or replacing them. Eventually I'd like to delete mine, but for the time being, I just want them to sit flush with the lower headlight trim. I've tried pulling them out to be more flush, but they always seem to retract inwards a bit to the positions you see below. Any suggestions on how I can get the damn covers to sit flush with my trim so I can give my OCD a break? Thanks in advance!

I don't remember them being recessed in on my last M3. Thankfully this one doesn't have them. It's such a useless feature. After looking at pictures I don't think that is normal. While it's cosmetic, it isn't your OCD, they aren't supposed to be in like that. The clips on the trim may have broken off at the center. That's where they typically break and the headlight trim could be the problem.

That’s definitely not normal. I would just wait until you delete them

Oh I'm very aware it's not normal! Haha. The car didn't arrive like this when I bought it 3 years ago, but somewhere over these past few years, this occurred. Probably when I installed my Angel Eyes last year. I don't think the clips are broken, though. I replaced my headlight lenses late in the summer (I think) last year and everything looked copacetic to me. I need to get back in there and figure out what the hell is going on.

        Thanks for the input!

Not sure I want to wait that long, as I don't know when I'll undertake that process. Next decent weekend (weather-wise) I'll probably dive into this again and see if I can devote some time to getting them to sit flush. And I'll have to start researching what deleting these entails.

          Thanks!

Supposedly fuse #51 controls the headlight washer pump, specifically (based on some research I just did), so I'm going to start there and remove that fuse for the time being, then mess around with the covers more.

is it possible when you replaced the lenses, that the bottom clips on the lens aren't seated/clipped into the housing all the way? It would probably push that lower headlight trim out some, creating a sunken in looking washer nozzle. OE lenses or aftermarket?

I suppose it’s possible but unlikely. I’ll double check! Always OEM!
