    Engine ‘Sputter’/‘Hiccup’ at Exactly 3K RPM

    Hi all. I’m drawing blanks. Here is my scenario:

    If I’m cruising just under 3K RPM and go WOT, the engine hiccups right as it hits 3K and sometimes will trigger a SES light (goes away cycling key) or will struggle past the 3K mark and be fine thru the rest of the range.

    This doesn’t happen if I EASE into/past the 3K mark.

    In short, only if I punch the throttle this happens.

    Any thoughts?

    (Car has: Hassan Tune/AA Headers/CSL AlphaN/Map Sensor)

      Is it the base map or a custom map from a dyno? CSL airbox I would assume?

            I had the same issue (along with some rough idle) when I had my airbox installed about 8 years ago. Turned out to be the tune was the issue. After a re-tune by a reputable shop on the dyno, all issues went away.

              When was the last time you replaced the TPS? Happened to me when I was on a stock airbox when one of mine was on its way out...

                Get it on a dyno. Hassan had to smooth out my tune as it was causing the same issue but was more around 2,200 RPM.
