AVIN4 w/ wireless carplay adapter

How well does this work? Is it glitchy at all? Trying to decide if it's worth the $100. I have the basic AVIN4 unit.

I love mine. Get in the car, turn the ignition on, wait 5 seconds (AVIN boot + WCA connect to phone) and music starts playing.

The first one I got was giving me problems and would keep disconnecting from the AVIN at random times. Had it replaced under warranty, and have not run into an issue ever since.

I have the AVIN carplay adapter I'm not planning to use that I'll sell you for $70. Never used.

I've never gotten wireless Android Auto to work. I've tried the Indiegogo dongle and the Motorola MA1 and neither connects. It does work wired with the autokit/car kit unit from Avin. I have the latest PX6 model.

Go to Amazon and search Apple Car Play Wireless dongle. Sort by price ascending. Any of the ones that say CarLinkIt or come in that yellow box should work. If you are patient you will eventually find one for $20, I even got one as low as $10. This has worked for me every time (I've probably bought 3 to 4 this way), but still, I would make sure it is free and easy to return since you never know with these kinds of products. Buying through AVIN is a ripoff.

It is the reason I have an Avin-- I never use the unit other than in wireless carplay mode.

they work on the android head unit (avin) for apple carplay (wired/wireless). they also work for wired android auto. i have not see them work for wireless android auto.

Does anyone have issues with their Wireless Carplay randomly disconnecting? Is that due to a faulty dongle or something else?

Could be faulty dongle. My Avant4 would lose the connection to the dongle randomly. Sometimes it would regain connection during a drive, sometimes it wouldn’t.

Finally, I got it replaced and that has worked flawlessly ever since.
