I have an OEM grey alcantara/black stitch from Coby with a 12 o'clock stripe and it's been great for me. No experience with other sellers, but I was able to pickup a ratty wheel from classifieds to use as a core return and he took it without any issues. Can't beat $250 for his work.

Are you planning to purchase from Tanik directly or through his eBay store?

Great responses - I’m kinda OCD and went new OEM, but since I have two older wheels here I’d like to send one out for plain black or anthracite. Guess I Should try coby

Coby is crap for steering wheels - it’s fine for ebrake boots and small accessories. He uses 9002 that is too thick for rewraps and it looks goofy.

Tainik will exclusively use 9040 on rewraps as he gets in thinner material - 9040 is black and isn't OEM 9002 though. The stitching is spot on color & alignment wise. It does add some padding and you lose some of the feel behind the top bar.

His steering wheels have very slight imperfections. My E60 M5 wheel has had the Alcantara lift near the left thumb position and one stitch wasn’t cut off right.

The best way to do it is to remove the OE leather, but the cost would 2-3x and few of us would pay that price. We’d buy a brand new wheel.

5+ years on a Coby. Some of the criticism here is true. The join behind the 3 & 9 is a bit flappy. The stitching faded, and the joins aren't OEM (but are fewer). It's held up really well though. Infect I think the only wear has come recently I suspect from hand sanitiser. I would buy again for sure.
