    EML Light (Ugh Sorry)

Apologies for beating this topic to death.

I just deleted/cleared/reset my adaptations and the EML light has come on AFTER doing this.

I’ve very recently replaced ICV, all TPS Sensors (including pedal), Throtte linkage bar, and new H7 battery

The idle is now erratic sometimes and I have to cycle the car. Sometimes I don’t get full throttle capability either.

Keep in mind I just did this…

Could this be a matter of just driving the car around?

Read the codes and report back.

+1 for reading the codes but I just ran into a similar issue on my friends car.

Symptoms were about the same erratic idle would happen rarely but EML light and no throttle response were really common.

      Ended up being the DME.

I cant remember the codes we had, it was something along the lines of TPS a and b deviation.

Not sure if its the same issue but its something to keep in mind, especially if you have a spare DME

Honestly you need to buy a cable (inexpensive!) and download (free!) software and be able to read your codes. Imagine the freedom to scan your own car anytime….any E46 owner should be able to do this at home.

telling us that you have a light after altering multiple things on the car and then random people chiming in with ‘similar’ yet completely unrelated scenarios can only lead you to waste time and/or money on parts you don’t actually need to replace.

in the meantime, before you have the means to read your own codes, have someone else read them for you and go from there…
