    Slicktop headliner missing piece question

This may be a silly question so apologies in advance, but I purchased a used slicktop headliner and there is a 2nd smaller slot hole near the dome light one and wondering what piece I need that goes there? Looking on Realoem its not clear, is it a combination of the bracket (11) 51442268975 and microphone cover (9) 51448250118 needed to cover that smaller open slot?

You actually need three pieces to fill that hole; 9, 10, and 11 in the parts diagram.

You're correct that the cover (9) fits into the frame (11). But part 11 is held in place by part 10 (51448171515), which sits on top of the headliner, e.g. between the roof and the headliner.

Yes, you'll need parts 9, 10, and 11 in black, as mentioned by tcp above. I was going to order them from FCP in case my headliner wasn't going to come supplied with them. Surprisingly, they have them in stock.

Cool thank you both! Yay more parts to buy lol. Yup I saw pieces 9 and 11 on both ECS and FCP when I was researching before my post. The 3 pieces are not too pricey thankfully but are more than their listed realoem prices (which seems to be the norm anyway). My cars not a daily and more of a weekend clubsport car at this point so dont really care about the microphone cover's functionality, if I had a 3D printer i would probably made a solid panel to cover the gap, I really need to start getting into 3D printing!

One thing you can do is fill in the mic holes with some putty, sand it down and just repaint black.

Have to bump this one, as I realized my slicktop headliner also doesnt have the bracket for the dome light hole lol. I cant find any kind of bracket on realoem, under either the headliner or interior lighting sections. But in the initial pic I posted the slicktop liner has the metal bracket, just like how the sunroof one does. I didnt realize this till I took out my old sunroof headliner and saw the big metal bracket for the dome light and sunroof motor panel (which obviously doesnt fit over to the slicktop)

EDIT: Never mind, thought of a cost free solution (the best kind!) using the bigger sunroof version bracket, and cutting it down to only the dome light portion. Will update post if works out and installed.

Following up for anyone interested or has this dilemma in future with their slicktop conversion. I just took a dremel cutting wheel to the sunroof dome light bracket and cut off the excess that was for the sunroof motor panel. Fit great, tho the metal clamping clips were pretty tight to get back down, maybe due to the thicker fabric I used to reupholster the slicktop. I was worried about the bracket punching thru when installing the dome light pushing into it even with the clips clamped down as hard as i could into the headliner, but thankfully that plastic bracket that screws the liner to the metal roof is there to hold that cut edge in place! Hope this helps out someone in the furure!

Cut dome light bracket pictured atop, with the microphone cover/panel bracket parts #10 and #11 below it (panel #9 not yet installed)

And figured I’d post a pic of the finished slicktop liner after my first diy reupholster job, as i am pretty happy with how it came out (eagle eyed would notice i also deleted the motion sensor panel, car didnt have the option anyway)

Looks great! also FYI the slicktop headliner requires different coat hook brackets than the sunroof one:

Thanks! And oh damn i didnt know that about the rear coat hangers ha. I was able to reuse my sunroof ones and they fit in fine with no issue and still function fine. I wonder what the difference is, maybe different depth?

Im wondering the same, they looked identical to the sunroof ones. I have them both on order from FCP but has been three weeks since I placed it, with the risk of them getting back ordered and canceling.

The brackets are definitely different. My coat hooks would not fit right or screw in without the proper brackets — had to take half the interior apart just to replace them after my CF roof install. Not sure why some of you are getting away with not replacing them, mine weren’t even close. My headliner is the euro one without the lateral bump out though, could be the difference.

Speaking of, what's the reason the euro headliner doesn't have that bump? Always been confused about that.
