    BMW Classic Certification

Now that some users cars are hitting 20 years old, has anyone applied for BMW's official classic certification? If you're not familiar, see the bottom of this page:

I'm a little unclear what you receive in the mail back..."the production and delivery details" isn't that descriptive. I'm attaching a screenshot of someone on an E9 board got back in the mail...seems a little thin for ~120 Euros with shipping. But maybe there is more to it?

Does anyone have experience with this service?

Don't see a whole lot of value for an E46 or slightly older when a VIN decoder has basically all that info and the full options sheet. Engine number seems the only not available openly.

For something like an E9 or a 2002 where the VIN decoders aren't so great, then sure if it verifies your car is original colour, spec etc.

So many of these cars have been monkeyed with that it seems odd commemorating what it used to be.
