    First post and first question

Hello. I've been using this and other BMW forums since buying my 2001 M3 about five years ago, but this is my first post. Most of my questions have been answered using the forum searches or YouTube. A year ago I decided the car needed an overhaul to address some body rust and engine pms (it'sgot 175k miles). Then I had twins. So I'm just now really starting to continue the project. Items on the engine to-do list include new main bearings, rod bearings, piston rings, valve seals, vanos rebuild w/ beisan parts and more. The piston rings are what's brought me to making my fist post. OE rings from BMW are more expensive than I would have thought and I can't seem to find any cheaper alternatives. For the price of new BMW rings I could get new forged pistons that come with rings. Is this the case or am I not looking in the right place? Forged pistons seem like overkill, I don't plan on going FI. What would you guys do? Thank you in advance for any replies.

The Euro guys are using NPR (NE) piston rings. Last post, that owner rebuilt his CSL using these rings and he states that they are OE quality - https://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/threa....188257/page-3

    NPR Rings SKU - 120007004700

Thank you very much for finding that! I'll look into them. I emailed hack engineering to see if they ship to the US. I'm assuming they do. Next I just have to make decision on which rod bearings to buy.
