Do I need a radio booster?

I fitted the latest xtrons unit that looks OEM with the built in Carplay, have had 0 issues and I love it however the radio reception is crap/barely works.

I have a 2005 M3 that had the full HK system, I gutted the trunk and ran the optional antenna cable along the main harness from the trunk to the headunit and everything is connected correctly.

I dont use the radio but I don't like it not working either so I'm wondering if perhaps I need a booster now due to the length of cable?

All I'll say is that my M has the WORST radio reception of any car I've ever owned, not even close. Just hearing AM in my own city is a crap shoot. Pathetic.

It's true, funnily enough the TV used to work perfectly fine until I ripped all that out of the trunk.
