Owners of a more recently purchased RE El Diablo - could you please measure...

With M3forum gone, I can't find any proof that that RE increased the diameter of piping on the el diablo from 55mm to 60mm. They mention nothing on their website or any other vendor's site.

Could someone with a more recently purchased el diablo (I'm thinking after 2018?) please measure the diameter of the pipes right after they step down from the sect 2 joint?

    Pic for reference: Thank you!

Did you try sending Ben Liaw (officialbenliaw) a message on IG,
? He is pretty good at responding and giving honest feedback. Might be worth a try.

My friend called him. He said 55m lol. Call me crazy, but I don't trust anyone. I would very much just like to see someone take the calipers to it.

Their website description says "pipe diameter optimized for flow" lol they must not be aware of all the 2.5" products.

That stinks. I have a RE El Diablo mated to a euro headers and sec 1 and it sounds decent but I still can't stand that tin can rattling around 2k-4k. I am considering trying the Castro Motorsports setup but I have to give them a call to find out about possibility of passing emissions. It's an expensive option so I want to be sure before I pull the trigger. I have a pre 2018 El Diablo and it is 55mm. I didn't even realize they increased the size.

I thought I remembered that they only offered a 'track edition' muffler that had larger piping for a limited time, and that it was a separate model from their std. 'street' muffler?

"The TRACK EDITION El Diablo offers the same features of the standard El Diablo and it's "flow through" design, but ups the ante by increasing the tubing diameter to 60mm offering 36% more flow over our standard El Diablo."

Good memory Stan! I had forgotten!

I don't see it on their website, but maybe if I call Ben he could ask the factory in China to do another run.

I remember a discussion about the angle/bend of the pipe acting as sort of a restriction.

                Also isn’t the OEM sec 3 60mm?

Not to derail from the discussion, but this is the setup that sold me on the RE El Diablo:

Haha, a YouTube video also sold me. It was a RE with AP headers.

I have a full RE Diablo exhaust (x and rasp pipe) sitting in the garage. It came with the car when I purchased it several years ago, so I’m not sure when it was installed. Looks brand new with a bit of polish. Can take a look tmr on the measurement.
