    Group Buy: Liteglass lightweight Windshield

So I finally found a company that is making lighter than OEM Windshields.

The windshield weighs 9,7kg which is 3kg lighter than OEM.

It has an E Stamp as well as a DOT number making it street legal in Europe and America.

Standalone pricing is €620 per piece.

    Group buy discounts:
    5+ >> 15% >> €527
    10+ >> 20% >> €496
    20+ >> 25% >> €465

They also have a heated version coming up (interesting for racecars with deleted venting). Pricing is not fixed for this, likely to be around €850 standalone pricing.

The windshilds are made in Finnland, trade company is Liteglass from Germany. Pricing is without shipping. When signing up, please let me know if located in EU or America.

Since most people on this forum are located in the US it would make sense to bundle intercontinental shipping to save cost. Two options for this:
    - I can contact a friend who runs a parts business if he is interested in facilitating import. there would of course be a handling markup.
    - Someone here agrees to be the distributor to the others in America. It would have to be someone with a record on the forums aka trust from others.

There was also the question if a lightweight glass rear window can be made. They do not have this at the moment, but if there are more than 5 people interested they are willing to develop it. Downside is that the OEM shields are already made at minimum glass strengths so any lighter version is not going to be officially street legal. It is also not going to be as light as Macrolon / Polycarbonate versions. State if you are interested, if more than 5 I will let them know.

Unfortunately they don't have a windshield for a limo/sedan. Only Coupé...
          Still game for only M3?

Can you specify the state? I'm going to get some shipping costs from them next week (also for Bahrain 😉).

                  Nice, Altaran!

Any word on strength, chip resistance, and optical clarity?

so will the front windshield be lighter only because it's thinner/weaker/louder?
