Running CSL MAP sensor and IAT with CSL tune but no airbox.

    Hey guys

Im planning to grab a CSL intake soon.

However before I do, I want to convert to MAP and run the CSL software on my ECU.

Is this possible, and if so, where can we install the CSL IAT, or will the standard IAT sensor built into the MAF work?

The idea is to install and wire in the MAP, and convert the ECU to CSL spec.

    Is this possible?

    Cheers

As a temporary solution, it should not really matter which airbox is used with the CSL tune. In fact in non-sport mode, the CSL does not open the flap until around 6k RPM, so air flow at those RPM will be restricted similar to the standard airbox.

The E34 BERU temp sensor is what most tuners use to relocate the temp sensor on a non-MAF tune. It can be installed on the stock intake ducting easily. The CSL tune will need to be adjusted to use this sensor.

The stock CSL temp sensor can also be attached to the stock ducting with a small adapter. NZ_M3 posted something way back about this plastic adapter being for a Range Rover or something. Not sure what the part number is though. Or maybe you can buy one from one of the CF airbox manufacturers.
