Speaker recommendation while panels are out

I don't know if this applies to e46. But when I was messing with the audio on my e60 there was a direct plug in amp upgrade

For speakers I did the Bavsound kit. I would say it’s a solid upgrade over the HKs that were in my car.

I must caveat this by saying the woofer in the passenger door was shot and 3/4 of the small mid drivers were missing their foam surround. Really, I just needed new speakers. The Bavsound kit was drop-in, felt like a higher quality than stock, and improved sound for me. Most music still sounds muddy but I like hearing the engine anyway.

All my stock (non HK) equipment was shot, so I had everything replaced with Audison Prima components and DSP amp which fit in stock locations. They did require custom mounts to fit though.

Previous owner replaced all speakers with Bavsound. Hard to tell if they are any good due to the shitty amp.
