OG vs Status Gruppe Scorza exhaust

    Hey Fellas,

How can I tell the difference between the two?

    Thanks!

I've owned both at the same time. It's quite obvious. The simplest way is the 2 different logos. Next, the metals used are slightly different. I also believe, but would have to double check, that the hanger "arms" are slightly different. The tips on the OM are riveted while the SGT are adjustable with set screws. I'll post a pic when I can of both of them next to each other.

Was there a significant exhaust note difference?

Subtle, not significant. Though my OM has more mileage on it. It sounded slightly louder, deeper, "nastier" but that could be less packing inside or something. There are many factors that would affect resonance, but I don't know how you'd really narrow it down or even capture it in an objective way.

I'm pretty sure I have the OG, but want to make sure. My memory is vague... I bought my CSL trunk directly from Sean (OM), but looking back on my records, I bought the exhaust from Status Gruppe (#0014). I thought it had the OM badge, but I think that was just in my head, lol.

Mine has the more "3D" logo

            Have a pic?

Here are my 2 next to each other. The tops though, logos are on the bottom. You can see the bends of the hangers are slightly different. Differences in material, appearance of welds. Overall very similar though ofc.

Were the originals sold only from Oakville?

As far as I remember. Certainly not from SGT (they acquired the rights later - like 2015 maybe). I think most owners got their OMs through the group buy (with Sean from OM) on M3forum back around 2012-2013 iirc. Obioban was one of the first, and he made that nice video where he had the JVT headers (SS longtube replicas).

                    Thanks, I remember that now.
Looks like I bought mine from Status on Feb of 2014
