    Limp Mode and 8 Codes

Went into limp mode during rush hour on the 210 freeway the other day. I'd gotten limp mode a couple of times in the last three months with code 76 ("Electric throttle: signal, potentiometer, throttle").

This time it came with a whopping 8 codes:

    10: DME: Signal, crankshaft sensor
42: DME: EWS interface: no communication
76: DME: Electric throttle: signal, potentiometer, throttle
77: DME: Electric throttle: signal, potentiometer, servomotor
78: DME: Electric throttle: potentiometer, signal comparison
79: DME: Electric throttle: both potentiometers faulty
8F: DME: Electronics-box fan (fan's been giving a high pitch squeal a couple of times a year in the four years that I've owned the car, wonder if that's related)
E6: DME: Electric throttle: stepoint/actual value deviation

Of note: it was hot out. Mid-to-high 90s.

Both TPSs and the Crankshaft sensor are OE BMW parts and probably about 20k miles old at the most, replaced no more than 2 years ago.

I have a hard time imagining that it's all three mentioned sensors that are the issue, given that they're all fairly new.

Given the E-box fan code, could be a case of the DME overheating? Wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and set of codes?

Based on those codes and description, it does sound like the fan is going bad. My friend had a TPS go bad after 20k, so it could be both the fan and TPS.

You said both TPS sensors replaced, which 2? And isn't there 3, one near oil filter housing, one under intake manifold, and the accelerator pedal itself?

The two in the engine bay, which are the two being referenced in these codes if I understand correctly.

I think so. So clear all codes, then on the cool early morning drive it around to see if the codes pop up again within 10 minutes. They should if they are damaged parts.
