I am having safelite replace the windshield on my 330Ci after a rock hit it on the highway last week. What should I remove before taking it to them besides the windshield cowl cover? I would like to minimize the amount of stuff they need to touch so they don't break all the brittle clips and plastic, does anything on the interior need to be removed to change the windshield like the a pillar covers? Thanks!

When I had mine replaced, the tech removed the cowl, wiper arms, and rear view mirror. My tech was careful and didn’t break anything, you may have a different experience so start with those parts. I also suggest requesting that they use an OE seal as the ones they use are cheap generic garbage. Not only have people had bad experiences with their seals, but even the tech himself said they’re garbage.

Good call, I will mark them with a paint pen but I could probably figure out the position again, I had the wiper arms off my m3 for months while doing some work and it only took a few tries to get them in the right position upon reinstallation. I am mainly worried about the cowl since I replaced them on both my e46's not long ago and the clips were a little fragile.Originally posted by Epsilon View PostDon't you also need to somehow remember position of the wiper arms?Last edited by Norocehcap; 10-11-2022, 05:19 PM.

Cowl was replaced about a year ago, the original one was very brittle and pieces kept breaking off just from looking at it.Originally posted by c watson View PostNow is a good time to replace the windshield cowl if it hasn’t been done already.Last edited by Norocehcap; 10-11-2022, 05:53 PM.
