Shifter bracket availability Part # 41128246251 (SMG to 6MT conversion part)

Bottom line up front: Can anyone recommend a metal fabricator that can replicate a BMW shifter bracket part, OE part # 41128246251? If so, please let me know. Thank you.

Context: Hey, everyone. I'm about to begin an SMG to 6MT conversion on my 2002 E46 M3. One of the required parts, a shifter bracket, OE part # 41128246251, is potentially now unobtainium.

Here's a link to the part:The last one sold on eBay was a while back, and the parts stores (FCP, ECS, Pelican, BMW dealers, etc.) all say the lead time is February and beyond if it is manufactured again at all.

An alternative for those trying to convert from SMG can go with a self-centering design shifter assembly, but those of us who are trying to stay OE will need a bracket of one sort or another. My backup plan is to get the part fabricated. An opportunity for someone wanting to make a little money for this aftermarket if you have the equipment and talent.

bmwfnatic are you sure about that? I just checked and my dealer says there are (2) in the US and none in Germany, but they should have more mid December.

Also my price has gone up from almost $40 to over $90 now!

Sometimes it does show stock but Germany refuses to send it out 😂

I don’t know how difficult it would be to remove a factory installed piece but these can be found on all non-M e46 cars including automatics. If it’s removable then maybe it’s a worthwhile effort if you have access to a junked car or one being parted out…

Oh man I butchered like 3 of these doing my conversion... This is why I'm an M3 parts hoarder 😂. I'll check if I have one left.

You'd have to drill out some spot welds. The ones that came installed on our cars look a little different too (BMW updated them at some point after production).
