LSB M3 Production Info

Hi Everyone:

I have been working to compile information regarding Laguna Seca Blue e46 M3s and wanted to share what I have found to date for owners, fans and owners that are fans. My hope is that this helps people further appreciate what they've got in their garage, or appreciate the rarity of what they might find in during their search.

Please note: I am not the source of this information--I am merely the compiler. The thanks go to he-who-shall-not-be-named, out of respect for his time. And no, because I am not the source of this info, I cannot offer any details or information outside of what I have managed to compile and post below.

Total LSB Coupe Production (for North America):

United States -- 1,044 (numbers below will include the 2006 individual, as/where applicable)
Canada -- 84
Total = 1,128
*Note: 3 coupes are unaccounted for below. I am working on this.

Total LSB Convertible Production (for North America):

United States -- 389
Canada -- 28
Total = 417

LSB Coupe Production (for North America) by Model Year:

2001 -- 559
2002 -- 245
2003 -- 169
2004 -- 154 (146 for the US; 8 for Canada)
2005 -- 0
2006 -- 1 (Individual order -- SMG for US with Black Nappa)

LSB Coupes Produced (for North America) with Black Nappa interior:

United States -- 288 (183 manual; 106 SMG)
Canada -- 55 (52 manual; 3 SMG)
Total = 343
*Note for Model Year 2004: Of the numbers above, 35 coupes (United States) were manual with Black Nappa; 3 coupes (Canada) were manual with Black Nappa.

LSB Coupes Produced (for North America) with Grey Nappa interior:

United States -- 666 (582 manual; 84 SMG)
Canada -- 2 (1 manual; 1 SMG)
Total = 668

LSB Coupes Produced (for North America) with Cinnamon Nappa interior:

United States -- 19 (14 manual; 5 SMG)
Canada -- 0
Total = 19

LSB Coupes Produced (for North America) with Anthracite Impuls Cloth interior:

United States -- 52 (36 manual; 16 SMG)
Canada -- 1
Total = 53

LSB Coupes Produced (for North America) with Laguna Seca Blue interior:

United States -- 16 (9 manual; 7 SMG)
Canada -- 26 (23 manual; 3 SMG)

United States -- 130 (69 manual; 61 SMG)
Canada -- 7 (4 manual; 3 SMG)

LSB Coupes Produced (in Right Hand Drive) with Black Nappa interior:

Total = 87 (50 Manual; 37 SMG)
*Note: Of this total, 41 cars were built to UK specs (30 manual; 11 SMG)

Cool array. For whatever reason, the other metrics don’t include the 1 individual LSB built in MY 2006. It counts in my book.

I geek out over this production number stuff. I love taking it a step further and see how many of a combination have certain options (or lack of options...strippers for the win!). Love the pie chart too...just wish the color names correlated with the piece of the pie. Personal preference of course.

Pretty cool to see, I have a 2004 lsb on Anthracite 1/53 smg making it 1/16 but it would be nice to know WW numbers as well. It’s not a 1/1 for these but still appreciate the rarity compared to gray int. versions. Now I just need Topaz and IB😶

That’s pretty awesome. I have an 04 on Impulse as well. Mine is one of the 36 manual cars. Small world.

LSB / Black Nappa / Slicktop: 20 manual; 12 SMG
LSB / Impuls Cloth / Slicktop: 28
LSB / Cinnamon / Slicktop: 2
