    Fuel Filter Brand Preferences?

Looks like quite a few choices for fuel filters, curious what everyone prefers or recommends. Seems some come with crush washer whereas some do not, and so on.

The original filter (I know this because I removed it from 2 cars, date stamped 2002) was made by Kayser (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-kayser-p...327831089~kay/).
Up until recently, you could still purchase this brand.

It seems that BMW has switched supply to Mahle now, I have a Genuine BMW filter here on hand that is stamped with the Mahle/Knecht logo.
Mahle part number KL 104/1 (also printed on the Genuine BMW unit).

Something to note * the OE Kayser didn't require a copper crush washer (on the regulator side/block), but Mahle does.

Now that BMW is supposedly supplying the Mahle product, are they also including a crush ring with it or wait till the customer reports a trail of fuel leaking behind them?

They are not supplying a crush washer.

The OE fuel filter for the E46 M3 has always been manufactured by Mahle. I've changed hundreds of E46 M3's original fuel filters with 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 date stamps and they are all the same BMW OE fuel filter that is manufactured by Mahle. Mahle manufactured a lot of the filters for the E46 M3 such as the engine oil filter too.
