Looking for a wired 2 way radio

I participate in an open road race every year (SORC here in Nebraska) and it's a driver/navigator situation, we have been using some pretty nice wireless radios made for motorcycle riders (packtalk by Cardo).

These uber expensive wireless radios are great when they work but seem to fail at the worst moments so I am looking for a WIRED solution that will not fail and is easy to setup.

I need headsets that will slip up inside a helmet and preferably stay put on their own, I only need two channels and the longer the cables, the better. Independent volume control on each headset would be preferable as well.

Here is a link to a setup I am eyeballing, seems like a cheapo deal, just wondered if anyone might have some experience and/or product suggestions, thanks in advance!

Racing intercom 2 place system. THIS IS A INTERCOM NOT A RADIO SYSTEM, SIDE BY SIDE, HEADSET TO HEADSET THROUGH A WIRE CONNECTION. Also available. Audio output for recording [ cable not included]. Wired standard IMSA.

I used a Baofeng UV-82 setup of my own homebrewing while instructing during Covid where we shifted to lead-follow. I bought and slightly modified a headset solution with a PTT switch on the wheel. It was one-way from me to the student because I didn't want them fooling with a PTT switch while driving. Take your pick of frequencies and power output.

I use this and really like it. Each driver gets their own volume. You can drive aux output into a camera system. Supports student headset and integrated IMSA helmet comms. Normally you need a 9v battery but I’ve seen some hard wire it with a voltage divider from 12v. Even with the loud AF Bimmerworld exhaust we can communicate.
