Yeah not being able to just click "buy" feels a bit archaic. BUT, Ronald is extremely helpful and makes each shifter to order. I'm glad I got to speak to him before buying, as we bounced some ideas around and ended up speccing out a custom shifter that was exactly what I wanted.

Where the heck do you buy the AS shift linkage? The website is pretty scattered. You just e-mail the guy and buy it direct?

Have uuc evo 3 w/dssr, ZHP nob.
light years above old (100 k mile) stock.
Would like to try the AS , but ain't
Paying to swap it out or buy at this point.
might have gone with AS, but i was not on this site back then. UUC seemed to be the go to from the info that was available .Last edited by Mystic3; 05-07-2021, 10:36 AM.

There isn’t any one-piece weighted M3 gooseneck knob and boot to my knowledge. There is a weighted gooseneck “knob”, it is NOT lighted like factory stock knob/boot (or F10 M5 stubby weight knob/boot) though. Its p/n 25117896884.Last edited by old///MFanatic; 05-07-2021, 10:07 AM.

I've done about ~350km on my AutoSolutions 20% short shift kit (F10 M5 illuminated knob). Shifts feel precise & very mechanical in nature. It's beautiful.
My only gripe is the shifter does not quite sit centred when in neutral. Otherwise it's fantastic!

Just did my manual conversion and went with E60 with poly bushings and performance knob. The thing sits a little to the right, not sure how I feel about that.. Might bend it just a tad to get it sitting more in the middle, anyone do that ??
Shifting is a little hard I must admit. Im hoping this will break in soon, its notchy and precise but heavy. I like it so far, could be better and im hoping it will once it breaks in.

Not a DIY but has some pictures.

I felt what I believe to be a 40% ultra back in 2002 and it was horrid. Granted not a great example but it's what put me off for so many years so I'm taking a risk because I'm a gambling man.

Another vote for AutoSolutions 30%. OEM shift knob. Was a little too notchy at first but once it broke in it was a great mod. Been running it for ~10 years and no issues.
