I do NOT have the HK system. My rear deck speaker is blown. Looking for stock replacement but I seem to only find HK speakers available. Is the HK rear speaker compatible with non-HK system?

I think the stock speakers are either 2 or 4 Ohm. While the HK speakers are 3 Ohm.
I don’t know if that causes any issues, but I remember being told once that mismatching the impedances isn’t a very good idea.E46 ///M3 • 12/2002 • phönix-gelb • 6MT

If money allows maybe look into an upgrade? I imagine since one speaker is blown, a few more might follow. The speakers use paper cones, and are around 20 years old on average.
My 02 sounded like garbage so I replaced the front speakers and tweeters. I found several of the speakers were torn, one or two completely around. Kinda explained the terrible sounds and buzzing.
