For look, yes Vorsteiner GTR hood looks better. For quality, Karbonius products is better and this hood actually save weight!!

Count me in if Karbonius makes a CF hood without vents.

I would get the Premium version, primed/ready to paint!

Like the idea of the hood, but not with those vents. Yuck.

I'm not sure there's actually a better starting platform for that

Karbonius is making lightweight CF parts for a race/track car project. If people buy his parts for street cars, not his problem. The hood and fenders might not be the best looking parts for this platform but I guess they are functionnal at least!

It'd be nice if Karbonius did a cf replica of the gtr bonnet...

Z4M would be a way better starting point. That chassis is lighter and crazy stiff (2x stiffer actually, stiffer than an E90 M3). No RACP issues either.

18,500 is a little more than half of 32,000

But, I don't actually agree anyway. The e46 has advantages over the GT3, even as a track platform, because of it's practicality. 4 track tires in the back seat and tools/stuff in the trunk is a serious upside. Z4M throws all that away-- might as well just get a GT3 at that point. Especially as aftermarket support for the Z4M is much worse (matters a lot for tracking) and it handles... worse, stock vs stock.

Even something as simple as adding harnesses is a PITA on the Z4M-- no quickfits, and mounting full harnesses requires serious modification of the car.
