    OBD 2 Cable

My car threw a CEL and started running rough and I can't manage to locate either of my two cables. I ordered one from England that took forever to arrive and, without any communication or response from the seller, I ordered another one (but I can't recall where from.) I need to scan my codes.

Does anyone know where to get the right OBD2 cable to be able to scan codes and program our cars where it won't cost a fortune or take weeks to get to me? If so, would you mind providing a link?

Thanks, and I'm glad to see the new forum up and running after the demise of M3forum!

[Edit: As might be expected, about 30 minutes after placing an order for a new cable on Amazon, I decided to do one last look for my other cables and I found them!. I was able to cancel my order and am now working on getting INPA installed and working on my new laptop.]

I use this Kline and it works fine with INPA, pulls codes etc..
Go to bimmergeeks.com for their K+DCAN, it is a bit spendy though. That Kline has done everything I want it to though.

EDIT: Also you need to make sure the cable is set COM1 for INPA, and I believe the latency needs to be set to 0. Someone correct me if I'm wrong there.

Thanks! I think that may be one of the ones I ordered previously!

Pins 7 and 8 need to be connected to work on the E46 I THINK that is what the button does but I'm not sure. The Kline cable I posted a link to doesn't have a button.

Pins 7 & 8 bridged is for non engine modules iirc. You can read codes without the switch.
