I don't see why you would need to remove it, or remove the o ring? Is the OE o ring a different size? I haven't gotten around to installing so I haven't compared.

Anyone successfully DIY tuned it after the swap?

No idea if it’s a different size, but I ordered the OE o-rings so I can place them in the stock location.

How did you remove the white plastic ring without damaging/bending the metal?

Edit: Figured it out. I was using non-serrated needle nose pliers which kept slipping. Came off easily with serrated pliers.

OE o-ring on the left and o-ring that came with the injector on the right.

Oh neat. So then it's actually identical to the stock 62690 injector body. Good to know.

Update on the stock replacement Bosch 62690 injectors I ordered from Summit. Spoke with customer service and they have about ~50 of them landing at various locations across the country next week. They’ll be shipping them out to those who have already ordered. It sounds like about 12 of them have yet to be pre-ordered and are available.

The Bosch Audi TT 62690 appears to also need to be back ordered?

Free Shipping - Bosch Fuel Injectors with qualifying orders of $109. Shop Fuel Injectors at Summit Racing.

            Maybe they’re available elsewhere?

anyway, hope this helps. I’ll report back when I get my 62690s and do a visual comparison with my 200k mile OE BMW injectors.

Dang I had a backorder open with Summit for like 6 months then eventually cancelled it. Wish I never did now!

I still have my doubts we are ever going to see the stock ones available again, but I would love to be proven wrong.
It seems like you can't order them any more on Summit as of now.

                  yeah, I saw that, too.

I’d be surprised if summit lied to me on the phone tho…

I'm doubting Summit. Super odd that summit says yeah we got fifty and everyone else, and I mean everyone, lists as not for sale, period.

Would be odd for a customer service rep to blatantly lie. Now, of course, the wrong parts could def show up…

Agreed. I’m guessing a case of they aren’t getting what they think. I do hope you all get them. Bosch Spark plugs going NLA is not something I figured would happen.

Update on the injectors. Summit pushed the ship date to April 21st. They stated have not received the injectors from their supplier. I’m going to call customer service and see what the new story is :-)

I’m not sure what to think, but it doesn’t seem like good news. We’ll see!

I previously used the “Notify Me When Available” email subscription to be notified when Summit has the item back in stock, it sent me an email a few hours ago telling the product is available, but nothing on their website, can’t order it.
