Cleaning throttle body

I currently have my intake box off and I’m cleaning the throttle bodies and the icv. I’m using Sean s54’s YouTube video as my guide. But I noticed there’s quite a lot of carbon build up on the inside of the throttle bodies. Is there a better way of cleaning out the inside of the throttle bodies.

You can remove them from the engine, pretty easy to do and easier to clean after. And you can replace the seals/o-rings at the same time

I've been reading that I'll have to readjust the springs if I take them off though.

Spray some TB cleaner inside the throttle body and use a cheap soft bristle electric tooth brush to get in there and loosen the carbon. Then use a microfiber towel to wipe it off. you can spray TB cleaner on the towel and wipe inside of the TB clean. Don't use blue shop towel because it falls apart and you don't want the pieces to get into the engine. And also don't flood the engine with a ton of TB cleaner. Let some of it evaporate before you fire her up.

Don't really need to use bristle tooth brush, just spray a few and let the cleaner and the dirt soak a few minute. You can just rub it off with microfiber cloth.
Do it a few times, and wipe it clean
then open the throttle body to clean the edge... The trick is use your finger nail with microfiber cloth and keep rubbing it

I disassembled the throttle bodies to clean them once. Thos little flat head screws...some might strip out. Good luck finding a replacement.

The place that you should pay attention to is around the moving parts and where the butterfly seals to the body. I just used a toothbrush and brake cleaner with the assembly off the car.
