Dixis sounds as good as the CSL airbox. Together it is incredibly intoxicating.

Thanks for all the replies here. All parts I'm able to get from Turner except the Karbonius air box. I do not want to wait months for this. It looks like these 2 sellers have them, neither of which I've used before. Anyone have a good experience with either ?

Both are large enough companies with lots of history, so you'd be fine ordering from them. That doesn't mean they're perfect or loved by all, but they're not going to leave you hanging, and disappear in the night. Use a credit card just in case which is good advice no matter who you purchase from.

FYI ECS shipped my Karb Race airbox two months sooner than expected. Actual wait ended up being a little under six weeks.

IND is pretty good, VAC is pretty terrible.

Don't do a muffler delete on an E39 M5 if you don't want drone. My M5 came with a muffler delete and I am not a huge fan because of how much it drones.

Does it also have the resonators and/or cats deleted? I’ve driven a couple muffler delete e39 M5s, and none droned— but they all had stock everything in front of the mufflers.

It's completely stock exhaust besides the muffler delete. It's droney around town but not horrible at highway speeds. But, I'd still prefer something quieter.

I agree. Mine came to me with stock exhaust + muffler delete. The drone is there at 1200-1400 RPM. No problem at all cruising but it got annoying every time I slowed down to a stop or pulled into a parking spot or took off at a normal speed. Replaced with SS Race and I’m much happier with it.

I have to admit, my e39m muffler delete experience is highway and backroad bombing— didn’t drive the cars slowly at town speeds, so never experienced that rpm range.

It’s alive?! Where have you been posting about this e60 beast!?

I dont think I have ever heard the Dixis. What I really want is the CSL box AND a high pitched raspy exhaust....I know that isn't popular around here

I think I’m the same way. 6-1 headers would almost be worth it to me for the sound alone.
