    The scorza isn't quite as loud/high pitched as SS race/el diablo, but it's plenty raspy and not too dissimilar to those mufflers, so I think this video gives a decent idea of having both full induction and failry loud/aggressive exh:

      That's a similar setup as you like. For me the best sound setup so far.

      First attempt at a dual mic setup. Didn't go too well, had batteries die in the audio recorder, and I didn't tighten down the mount on the best video runs on...

        Sorry, I don't quite follow - are you saying you have the same? Your car is the one in the link? Very similar to mine indeed, with except of section 2. SCZA muffler is very close to scoza.
        It sounded a little nastier when I had the catless section 1 pipes, but the HJS catted sect refines it just a touch. Unfortunately, I can no longer hear any natural pops upon upshift (sepcifically into 3rd gear), but the trade off is worth it - high quality cats with no powerloss.

          Hello friends,

          Ended up going with this:

          Supersprint 63.5mm headers Supersprint 63.5mm Catted section 1
          Supersprint Resonated twin pipe section 2
          Supersprint Street Muffler
          Karbonius Airbox (race)
          Kassel DME

          Have to be honest I'm disappointed here. There is definitely drone from 2-3k , especially noticeable when going up hills. Maybe I'm much more sensitive to this than most, but it bothers me so much that I want to make sure my mechanic ordered the resonated twin section! I think its unlikely he ordered a different part or did the install incorrectly, but are others with this setup really not experiencing drone? Or just driving around it by modulating the throttle and keeping revs a bit higher?

          Absolutely do love the way the Airbox sounds. But I'm also not really blown away by the performance of the headers + airbox. Feels quicker at higher revs, no doubt, but don't think it feels any better below 3k (and honestly I'm not sure I can live with this drone).

          I plan to bring this to Kassel and have them tune it on a dyno and see if that helps. On the exhaust I'm wondering if putting the stock muffler back on would make any difference, or if this is just what it is with the 63.5 headers.

          Car looks awesome though. Did paint correction at a spot in NY I would highly recommend if anyone is in the area

            I'll chime in, I ran my car totally stock for 16 years. This year (last year?) finally got the group buy on the fulll SS V1 catted system (63.5mm)--headers, section 1 catted, section 2, and race section three. Installed in January, noticed a dip in midrange torque, cat codes were wonky but seem to be good now; and last week had Hassan do a remote tune and it totally transformed the car. And, the exhaust seems now to be less "droney" and actually sounds better. Anyway, all that to say I'm happy with my setup where most seem to not like the race section 3. I have no dyno records to quantify anything, but the car is so much better now, very happy.

                Hmm maybe it is a tuning issue and that would resolve the drone too. I think it actually might be less responsive from 2k-3500. I'm going to give Kassel a shot first, they're only 2 hours from me. But can you give me the link/contact for Hassan? I'll go that route if Kassel doesn't resolve.

                  This is what I did. I put my stock muffler back on with bigger euro tips. Previously has SCZA muffler. Much happier now. Only hear the airbox noises which is what you want to hear anyways.

                    HTE Performance. I did a remote session--"canned tune". I was going to go Kassel as well, as I grew up in PA and was going to travel there, but, Hassan (HTE) comes highly recommended. I'm not discounting Kassel at all by any means, but, I'm very happy with my setup.

                      You're going to drive 4 hrs to get a substandard tune as compared to HTE?

                          No, but PCS and HTE have dyno tuned so many S54s that their pre-calibrated tunes should basically get the car 90-95% there on the common S54 setups.

                            Chiming in on the sound debate. I have been running a CSL intake with stock exhaust since 2019 and it truly is an amazing experience as you get to hear the full grunt of the airbox. Unfortunately a lot of the aftermarket mufflers are just too loud and overpower the airbox significantly. I recently put a Megan supremo exhaust on the car after years of stock muffler, and although it may not be the most sought after exhaust on the market, I am actually very pleased with the results. It is actually fairly tame, and compliments the airbox well, not overbearing and I can still hear it throughout the range. Keep in mind I am still running stock headers and everything else, so not the loudest setup to begin with, but for me un-catted set ups are just too loud regardless. I personally just wanted enough exhaust noise to where I could hear the downshift blips and i think I achieved a good balance, as it doesn't drone and when your cruising the muffler is nearly silent. I made a video comparing the sounds of the CSL airbox with stock exhaust, with fly bys, start up and revs , and then contrasted against the supremo exhaust, which if your interested you can see here



                            I have also made a good amount of videos with just the CSL intake and stock exhaust, where I put a microphone right to the CSL airbox to showcase its unique tone. Its obviously a little louder and clearer than it would be IRL, but I think I did a good job at capturing the raw essence of the noise. I should also note that I am running the race airbox with an open plenum, so no snorkel or flap, which makes it a bit louder down low. If youd like to get an idea of what that may sound like should you go back to stock muffler, you can get a taste of that here:

                            Also, the airbox is not particularly meant to help with power down below 3k, from my last few years dailying it I can say that it still has enough grunt to get around in traffic, but if you floor it in that range dont expect to be thrown back unless your in like 1st or 2nd gear. Also, a number of people have had tune-related issues in the rev range below 3k, and have needed a proper dyno tune to smooth out the power delivery as sometimes the tunes/software out-of-the-box can "leave a gap" and cause bucking down low. Im running CSL software with Map conversion and MSS54HP ECU and I had to get the low rev-range worked out on a dyno as it had a significant dip in power below 3k.

                                I think on the tune/ECU we have a similar setup. So Kassel provided a CSL converted ECU. They did - MSS54HP, converted Kassel CSLHP, Kassel tune and Kassel MAP Kit KPMAP. There is definitely a power dip below 3k, and I'm hoping the droning can be fixed via a tune.
