    Help me build some wheels

I’ve been sitting on a set of BBS RSII for too long and want to get the ball rolling on having them built into 3pc wheelset. I’m just having trouble deciding on the specs. Want to do 9.5/10.5 widths and 255/285 tires. I just need to get the offsets right. The rears I’m hoping I can do +25, or even +22 if I can pull it off without having to roll fenders or run extreme camber (the car is an ‘04 cabrio on Eibach/Bilstein)

My bigger concern is the fronts-I previously had 18x9.5 ET35 apex wheels and didn’t like the fit as far as how far the wheels “poked”- they looked like they were out farther than the 10.5 ET27 rears, which was part of the reason I sold them. My thought was to do something like 9.5 with 40 or 45 offset so that the front and rear would look more in line wih each other, if that makes any sense.

My next issue is picking a shop to do the work. I’ve been in contact w both AR Motorwerkz and Ehrlich Wheel Works, who both gave me almost identical quotes, so it’s just a matter of who comes more highly recommended-anyone have experience with either shop? Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated

I don't have exact specs to give but if you haven't already done so I would start here (https://www.willtheyfit.com/). Then start your measuring.

I wouldn't think twice about sending to Paul Ehrlich, their work is top notch. Had him rebuild a set of lm089's for my e36 m3 and the process was painless, wheels showed up packaged extremely well. 100% would do business with them again and will likely send him a set of LM's off the e46 shortly. I saw on insta they are running a 15% off on services as well, not including polishing, but still, large enough discount that it would likely pay for shipping

40 or 45 offset on BBS RS2 3-pcs ain’t going to look good up front cause you will end up with super small lips like 1’’ lips (depending if you have RS2 with flat faces or concave).

You might need to consider 19’’x8.5’’ or 9’’ if you have flat faces. Small barrels than try to get 2’’ lips. With a 7’’ barrel, it should bring you to 30 offset. You might be able to fit them with stock top plates depending how is your car lowered.

Anyway, seems too complicated, just sell me your wheels, problem solved

this is VERY helpful, thanks. I might have to rethink it and go 9/10 if I can get deeper lips. And no, you can’t have my wheels lol

fattycharged, thanks for the feedback, this (and the sale) may have swayed me to EWW

Paul does really great work from everything I’ve seen. I would ask him to recommend specs. I would do something like 18x9.5 ET22-28 and 18x10.5 ET20-25. A little camber won’t kill ya. Small price to pay for them lipz

If you start from BBS RS714 18x8.5 et38, it means you have flat face. The BBS RS700/701 18x8.5 et22 & 18x10 et25 are the concave faces.

When I had mine, I bought the BBS RS714 flat faces cause wanted bigger lips while not going too agressive.

Let us know what wheels you have. It’s stamped on your wheels
