SoCal Wheel Refinish Shop for CSL Wheels

    Hello,

Looking for a shop in SoCal to respray my CSL wheels. If you’ve refinished your wheels in the factory Glasurit A55, or have a shop you can vouch for, please let me know.

My current plan is to have a local wheel shop chemically strip and repair the wheels as necessary, then take the prepped wheels to a body shop that sprays Glasurit paint and have them spray the wheels. It would be ideal to find a reputable shop that can do it all but that seems highly unlikely.

I know a near factory finish is not realistic, but I’d like to get close. My local wheel shop has “BMW silver” which is dull and not close to the A55 finish.

    Thanks in advance 🫡

Appreciate you, Nate. Thank you. I'll reach out to them. Is this the correct shop?

Yes that’s the place, let me know how the process goes. They have done two sets of wheels for me in the past, not the exact process you’re asking about, but I’m sure they can get you squared away.

Nate047 - Spoke to the owner of the shop and sent over the paint codes/details. He said due to EPA regulations, it's not possible to purchase the Glasurit top coat that gives the wheels the hypersilver glow. I guess it's a multi-stage paint job and really difficult to do. He said he's tried to replicate the hypersilver look in the past and it was not close. Told me he wouldn't be able to help.

Thank you for the recommendation. I'm going to keep looking.

FYI take a look at this thread Nick

Looking for a paint code that is close to the factory hypersilver color or powercoat color that will get me close. Thanks.

Thank you! Saw that thread pop up recently - going to see if I can source that paint. Wheel Concepts in Camarillo can do the chemical strip and paint spray, they just can't source the Glasurit paint for obvious reasons. Appreciate the link!

Maybe you can get the paint another way and give it to them.

Gotcha. EPA has gotta be a nationwide thing, but I feel like you could probably find a way make this happen in our easterly neighboring states.
