Axle shaft outer CV

Perhaps this should go in the "Dumb questions" thread, but all I've been able to find online is the inner CV replacement for the axle shafts.

What am I missing here?

The outer includes the splined shaft, likely not available separately

I've read the outer CV isn't really serviceable unless you go to a speciality shop.
