Personally I wouldn't trust a dipstick reading unless I drove the car to temp and saw the oil temp gauge stop going up. I would not trust "warming" it without driving.

I mean the temp gauge definitely stops going up, however thats when the low oil light comes on so I’m nervous to drive it to try and warm it any further

I would add a quart just in case it is bone dry. Worst comes to worst you can drain and change oil. Worst comes to worst if it is bone dry and you dont add a quart it could blow. Better to waste some dough on an extra oil change than lose the motor.

          If you need help lmk.

I definitely agree with that, I wont be driving it until I figure out whats going on, or I add that quart. I am currently sitting in the car while it idles, warming it up. Again today, the cold measurement was only slightly below max. I’m starting to wonder if there’s something preventing the oil from draining back to the pan. Im aware theres lots of oil land on the head for oil to travel down, maybe also an issue from the OFH? I guess we’ll see here shortly

You're making this much harder than it is.

Unfathomable this thread is still going.

Do you have a part number for the pistons and do they come with rings?
That's probably the issue right there. There will be some oil from the cooler lines draining back as well.

If there is oil on the stick I wouldn't think twice about driving it, just maybe keep the revs off the limiter.

So when I was messing around with it a few night ago, the low out light did not come on, after about 5 minutes of shut down oil was reading about in the middle of the dip stick. I let it cool down and just check the oil filter housing, and could see some shiny filaments in the oil. Keep in mind this is only 3k miles since the full rebuild, so I’m wondering if maybe the filter is just a tad clogged up from some of the initial materials that are wearing off. That could be a reason for the light triggering. I dont think the sensor could be bad, bc it did intend show just about no oil on the stick when that light was on.

its only been 1300 miles on this current oil but I think I’m just gonna go change the oil to flush out some of that stuff, hopefully that clears up the oil. just glad that I’m not actually low on oil

Your making this way harder than it needs to be brother. Just do an oil change and measure the oil using the dipstick following the factory instructions posted above. Good luck.

Thats what I did, whole lot of weird things going on. It could also be left over break in oil that was thicker. Who knows
