My money is on "experience" or "fun" or "adventure" or something like that... 😂

jet_dogg gave perfectly good advice. You did ask for people's opinion.

I see both sides. I'd just fly and rent a car myself because of the condition and the way I've set my car up. If yours is more of a driver/DD, then I wouldn't worry so much.

OP, drive the M and enjoy the trip. At high speed leave more than 50’ from front vehicle to avoid rock chip.

            In my own car, no.

In your car, sure if it's maintained and comfortable.

When I'm traveling I actually like to prioritize on doing different things and one part of that if cars are involved, is driving different cars.

But renting something to drive across the country means no Turo AKA no manual transmission which means the drive will be boring.

            Fly bro.

If I had the choice, I would pick rental just because I am not too fond of piling too many miles. I am moving from Mexico City to the Bay Area, and i did 50/50. Drove to San Antonio, and from here, the car is being transported to my place there. I was not happy with the idea of adding 4500kms in one week when I don't even do that many in a full year 😂

                  Take the M!

I did a road trip all the way down the coast, Vancouver to LA, what an amazing drive! Not a single hiccup with the car

Drive that bad boy, road trips are an absolute blast! I find myself pulling over quite often to take a picture capturing the car in the new environment dependent of the time of day.

It's the beauty of these cars, they're just really photogenic.

I was in the aviation industry for 30 years and want nothing to do with it in the present day. I also enjoy (at least I use to...been two decades...) road trips. That said, after I get back home, I may think entirely different as I'm a lot older now.

Yeah, well, I don't see it that way. Telling me and/or my friends what we should or shouldn't care about may be an opinion, but certainly not a constructive one. All the other post have been helpful. Nuff said.

You can always do this when you think enough is enough, or it breaks (knock on wood)

Trade for an M Coupe? Not a bad option at all! :P
