S54 Dry Sumped engine oil pressure problems

    because in a dry sump system, it just won’t work as a wet sump system. It is not really needed because of the high demand of oil a dry sump pump delivers.

    stock engine can sit for 2 weeks and will have pressure right away.

    of course if maybe 1 years passes, I would have to prime the pump as oil might have passed into the pan and i need to scavenge it out for the pressure stage to suck it again.

    anyway…. I am certain that the clearance is the issue, will report back

    The head is way higher than the pump, so without a check valve oil will drain back. This is why the stock OFH has the check valve. It's cheap and simple so I don't understand why you say it has none.

      Is oil filter housing valve checked? Maybe there is a problem? I had same situation when on simple oil change serviceman did not installed seal on oil cap bolt and there was total no pressure.
