    Airbag recall

Hey guys, getting my car roadworthy again after 11 years of sitting in a garage. As soon as it’s road legal I’d like to try and get the airbag recall done. Got a couple of questions….

    1) is/was there an end date for getting the recall done? Did I miss out ?

    2) what airbags are replaced under the recall

    3) is steering wheel is part of the recall and replaced, is the airbag cover replaced with it? Mine is very “gooie/stickie)

    thanks

    1. I dont think so, call your local BMW dealer

    2. Driver and Passenger Airbags

    3. Steering wheel is not replaced, only the air bag

I think you can check here for recalls
Use our VIN lookup tool to check for recalls on your car, or search by make and model. Also, get recall information on car seats, tires and equipment.

Thanks for your reply, on the driver side airbag I know the steering wheel is not replaced :-). My question was whether the center of the steering wheel (where the horn button is) gets replaced. My understanding is that that is the driver airbag cover. It seems like it’s part of the airbag so I wasn’t sure if that comes with the new airbag or it’s a separate piece. Mine is all sticky from age and need to replace it at some point but haven’t found a standalone part number for that cover which is why I assumed it comes as part of the airbag assembly.

The center leather is part of it.
