    Autoberry leather?

As I continue to push on my car's cosmetic refresh: Has anyone here dealt with autoberry's products, specifically their replacement leather seat skins for E46 convertibles?

    https://www.autoberry.com/shop/bmw-3...ers-2000-2006/

My rear seats are fine, so, $1099 to completely refresh my front seats seems like a great deal if the quality of the leather is OE level. Searched the forums and haven't come across any reviews from anyone who have ordered from them. If there's anyone here who has, I would really love to hear about how well the quality of the leather matched the OE leather, and how well the covers fit the seats!

I'm also toying with the idea of just getting an entire refreshed cinnamon interior from bmwrestoredseats, but that would cost several times more. I do prefer cinnamon to imola for carbon black, but just restoring my imola fronts is really tempting if I can do it cheaply and easily.

Edit: I called them up and they offer samples, so, I'm gonna get some! But in the meantime, would still love to hear from anyone that has dealt with them!

FWIW Joni did my M-Texture interior and it came out really nice....but like you said, that's several times more than what you're talking about.

The plus side is you can then sell your Imola, which helps offset the cost.

I doubt my opinion means much, but to me Cinnamon is 100 times better than Imola. I don't get why this forum loves the red interior so much lol.

    Either way, good luck!

I used them to redo my seats in black and would use them again (this was four or five years ago though). However, black is easy, so you are doing the right thing by getting the samples so you can check the color. I ended up buying a complete Imola set off Joni and sold the other seats.

Thanks! By every account I've heard, Joni does great work, and it would be great to work with him if autoberry doesn't work out. Agree about Cinnamon vs Imola -- I actually had a cinnamon over carbon black car before the imola over carbon black that I have now, and as nice as Imola is, I absolutely miss the cinnamon. I'm having a hard time imagining any exterior color where I'd take Imola over Cinnamon.

Googling around, all I've been able to find about Autoberry are people who have complained on yelp and pissedconsumer.com about their bad return policies in cases where fitment hasn't been good, so, not feeling great about them so far.

Thanks for the datapoint. Did the seat covers actually fit properly in your case? Even if the sample looks and feels perfect, this could still be a major possible issue, and it sounds like they're not very helpful if you end up with a set that doesn't fit well.

They did fit properly, or at least I think they did. Reason I state it that way is because I had a very experienced upholstery guy do the installation and if there were small issues I'm sure he just handled. I would give them an 8 to 8 1/2 out of 10 which isn't bad considering the price. In other words they aren't perfect.

The installation is everything here, which is why faced with the choice, if you have an expert installer just get them factory leather and let them go to work. That will almost always be your cheapest and best outcome. If you have less quality on the install side, well then you need prefab seat covers. I live in a boat community where good workmanship litters the streets, so sourcing the leather is all you need to do.

The patina won’t match 15-20yo leather, so if you can deal with that there’s no need for a color change. If you need it all to be time correct then F+R and doors etc is your only option, which is always multiples of the cost of factory leather where necessary.

That said, I recently installed some new factory Imola bits in my car and the jury is out on how long it’ll take for the patina to blend and match. But mine is a Vert in FL so weather will help things along.

And black is better than both of those 😎
