if we're being honest, as a college kid downloading this show and F1 races off DCC servers 20+ years ago i thought BBC was just a watermark added by whoever was pirating the shows

but yea even considering how well produced and high budget the show appeared to be. i never expected them to be fabricated to the level that the Tesla drama revealed.

There are two sides to every coin though. Tesla lost that lawsuit and the follow ups, and the whole thing about someone from Tesla seeing a script about the planned failure bits just sitting out in plain view, is super thin and was not surprisingly also tossed out. Teslas are pretty big pieces of shit and pretty much every automotive journalist dislikes them. Lots of automotive journalists are also idiots, but the point remains. Tesla also do not give out press cars at all anymore except on very rare occasions, because they are afraid people will write bad reviews on them. Case in point, my wife and I recently worked on a comparison test between a number of EVs and the only one that wasn't provided by the manufacturer was the Tesla Plaid. The producers had to rent one from Turo. And this wasn't some rinkydink production either.

two sides to this coin too, i kept up with all the sensationalist articles about Tesla when they were a less established company. most egregious was the new york times article where the journalist said his car navigated him to a supercharger that didn't exist, and then he ran out of juice and had to be towed. Tesla released the datalog that showed he actually arrived at a supercharger with range on battery, and then drove around it in circles until his battery died. the NYT editor had to respond saying their writer took "journalistic liberties in writing the article"

it seems excessive for Tesla to blacklist the entire automotive media but i guess its easier than having to retort every clickbait article that comes out about them

Gettaway in Stockholm 7 also featured an E46 M3!

Didn't care for Clarkson while Tiff was always my favorite but I find myself liking Clarkson more and more these days.
