Ok so I’m in the process of putting f80 m3 brembos in my e46……got the install kit, calipers and rotors. Currently shopping for pads and have some questions. Options I’m looking into are oem M f80, brembo low met. And brembo neo ceramic.
my car will see 90-95% city /street driving and maybe 2 track days a year.
im considering going the ceramic route for city driving as I have brand new csl reps and I love keeping the car clean. How bad is the performance/bite loss of ceramic vs low met (not for track but spirited, twisty road driving) keep in mind I’m putting f80 380/370mm brembos 2/1 piston in a car that came with 325mm floating calipers stock with no sizeable performance upgrade (I get the whole unsprung weight thing etc….it’s an aesthetic upgrade for me). I figured even with the reduce performance of ceramic it should still be slightly better than oem semi-met.
Is it hard to replace the pads on these brembos for the 1-3 track days I’d do each year? Is this something people regularly do? I’m kinda new to tracking cars (I’m more of a bike track guy) I’m asking this from a pad bedding standpoint)
for track would you recommend m oem or low met brembo?
