Best Mods for a Manual VERT

I love driving the car and enjoy the wind through my hair, but I also love modding/upgrading cars as well. Maintenance on the car is up to date and the big 3 have been addressed.

Wanted to know if anyone has any cool mod recommendations for my Vert. So far I have:

    Apex ARC8 Wheels
    OEM Hardtop
    Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers
    K&N Intake System
    Dynavin D7
    Bavsound Speaker Upgrade
    Slim Subwoofer in the trunk
F10 Shifter with new shift knob
    Dinan Stage 1 Tune
    Upgraded Brake Rotors and Pads
Alcantara Interior bits and steering wheel

I think that's it. I was thinking of either wrapping the car, or maybe changing the intake system to a louder one, or possibly getting an exhaust axleback. Also considering a short shifter such as RTD or Autosolutions.

Maybe some exterior carbon bits are in order too. Been eyeing the Turner CSL style carbon trunk.

I really want better seats in the car, but know that its not possible on the vert without a harness bar. These seats feel like you are sitting on a bench!

Whatever you do don't buy a Turner "CSL style" trunk, it's Chinese junk, you may get lucky and find one that fits but by and large you get what you pay for on large CF body panels etc.
    2004 Silbergrau Metallic 6MT
    Karbonius/OEM Snorkel/Flap/HTE Tuned
    Ssv1/Catted Sec. 1/SS 2.5" Sec. 2/SCZA

    OE CSL Bootlid/AS SSK/BC Coils/4.10 Gears/ Sportline 8S Wheels/Cobra Nogaros
    RACP Plates/Vincebar/CMP/Turner RTAB/Beisan

Got it. Thanks for the info.

man what happened to Turner? I thought they used to be all quality? I guess ECS buying them really screwed the pooch.

For a convertible since weight savings is not really an issue, possibly consider a supercharger kit. It’s honestly the best bang for the bang in terms of hp. If your a purist, CSL airbox and full Supersprint exhaust but you will not be any near the hp levels of a Supercharger. You will also spend more money for the CSL airbox and full Supersprint exhaust.

Also for tune, I would consider HTE or Paul Claude for tuning. They seem to be the go to’s for s54 tuning.

          Thanks for that!

honestly the car is far enough for me. I actually wish it were a tad bit slower so I can really rev it out without going too much over the speed limit haha. The car came with a Dinan stage 1 tune when I bought it and I’m thinking of taking it off.

On my vert the one thing I think about changing is the exhaust note out back — muffler only. If I was in a spendy mood I’d do headers on back, full Euro. Virtually the same factory architecture with different placement and sound (cats in section 1 v headers).

Other than that, the car goes, turns and stops just fine for me. I already changed the cabin sound (full sound system + deadener) so most of the good car sounds are outside the cabin, and the cabin is filled with music.

Same here. Maybe I do want an exhaust. It’s so quiet but can’t find an exhaust that is a balance between sounding good and not cost an arm and a leg

Yeah that's not gonna happen because limited supply (that fits the bill) and rabid demand... but for what it is, the costs aren't horrible... it's just when you start talking headers and midsection that you do a sanity check for WTF are you doing and why... same with cams and big brake kits. Money no option would be supercharger, cams and full exhaust and brakes, but then you're off in Project Land.

FWIW it would be Supersprint for me.
