Honestly i used the cheaper VHT high temp paint and it's worked great so far. Definitely take the time to make sure everything's prepped and degreased and you're set.
It was very particular about setting in the extreme cold (well outside its advertised temp for application)
VHT and Duplicolour seem to work well on cast iron in my experience as cheap as they are as long as block is clean. On alloy i am not so sure adhesion is good but not relevant for you most likely.
Maybe Eastwood 2k is better or POR 15 engine enamel?
