i have same issue with texar pads, relatively new install with new rotors.

i also noted they didn't 'clip' into the front pistons like the rears did.

In my experience, Textars are absolutely garbage and sometimes worse than the Autozone brands which are also trash. Actual OE pads are fine because there's a quality control but I've always had issues with non OE pads. Just because it says it's the same, doesn't mean it is. I'm also not saying use a BMW pad but changing brands and staying away from Textar is probably a good idea. Try replacing your anti rattle clips as well. Use BMW there and switch pad brands. See what happens.

        Update:
I contacted textar and to my surprise they actually responded. They told me that the part number was incorrect and despite the pad shape being the same the springs are actually different!
Coincidentally.... FCP now carries a different part number than what I originally ordered. Something seems a bit fishy to me. I'll do a lifetime replacement thing and see how the latest ones fit.

Other than the squeaking these pads are perfectly fine. They took one heat cycle to work consistently but now they are fine

I used to use Textar because they were "OE" but had similar issues with noise on a couple different cars.... Now I only use BMW and no issue.

            Update:

I got fed up with the Textar brake pads squealing. I noticed that FCP changed part numbers and there are multiple numbers that supposedly are interchangeable. I ordered a new set only to realize they're exactly the same design. So instead, I just went with EBC's Blue Stuff pads which are supposed to be a good performance street pad. These pads use a completely different clip design that holds it securely to the caliper piston. So far, completely silent braking.

Here you can see the difference in the clip styles on the front pads. You can see the red "brake quiet" goop I had tried on the Textars at one point, but that wasn't the root cause, I believe it was the clip making them tip outwards and drag the edge against the rotor.

I'd suggest just getting the Genuine CSL/ZCP pads up front and be done...no fuss no muss. Perfect fit and adequate for street from my experience. I'm at a point where my time is worth more than re-doing car work multiple times because some aftermarket stuff is a few bucks cheaper, but isn't right. Some brands are GTG, but one needs to be careful nowadays--sometimes this happens. Especially with production facilities being moved around, company acquisitions, etc. (ref Centric/Stoptech). I've spent 20yrs in automotive manufacturing--just because some supplier makes the BMW part, doesn't mean if you buy the supplier brand it's the same thing as the BMW Genuine part. This is true in glass, brakes, and other things; in some cases, it's not true.

Anyway, glad you worked this out, and thanks for sharing!

Yep, I have cooked my stock brakes a couple times even on the street so I was kind of looking for a mild upgrade. The EBCs seemed like a good option and I have great experiences with their other products in the past.

Also a good opportunity to report back to the forum on another brake pad option!
