    Shaking at low speed

Hi all- appreciate your help in helping me determine what might be going on here. I've observed over the past couple weeks a shaking/popping (hard to locate the location, but from the drivers seat it sounds like behind and to the right) when accelerating moderately from a stop up to 20 mph. It kind of sounds like wheel hop but it doesn't feel like it at all. Interestingly, if I accelerate hard enough, it doesn't occur. Nor will it occur in any other gear other than 1st nor at speed. The most recent work that was done to the car prior to the issue occurring was I got a rear tire replaced.

Things I've done to try to isolate the issue:

    1. Checked tire pressure and removed/retorqued bolts
    2. with rear lifted, checked for play in bushings and suspension
    3. with rear lifted, checked half shafts and front of diff. Haven't removed the exhaust and heat shield for further inspection because I doubt it will be fun for one person on jackstands to do.

The only thing I observed was that one of the center exhaust mounts is busted which I now have on order. Having replaced the exact same mount on my M5 just last year, however, the noise is quite different. Let me know what else I should be checking.

    Thanks!

190k. Had a shop in san antonio replace the driveshaft and guibo at about 160k miles. doesnt look like the CSB got done which at this mileage would make sense but assume that a worn CSB would show symptoms across broader range of conditions?

Probably, but it is such a simple one to check and since you don't have history on that one I would take a look.

Agreed. Not sure if I did something wrong, but last time I dropped sec 2 by myself on jackstands I had a horrible time so I'll probably give a shop my business at that point- was just hoping there was something I was overlooking before it came to that lol

Glad you got it sorted. How bad was the CSB? Did you ever talk to the shop that did your driveshaft at 160k? Seems weird to not replace the CSB at that time.

It had some wear but it wasn't visibly busted. I didn't talk to the shop that did the driveshaft because when they did the work, they did tell me the CSB was left alone because it looked like it was a recently replaced and looked/performed as new.
