Production, but only just (<1400 cars made).

TONS of development for the number of cars sold.

Works out well for us :P

Radio is some standard version of bmw business from that time.
Center console is also standard e46 without armrest.

They put that car together in a hurry to claim a road going version in order to race ALMS. They didn't have much time to develop a whole new interior. So for the most part it's standard bits and the "less is more" philosophy.

Door panels are also different to M3, it's standard e46 without side airbags.

This is what I figured given the time crunch BMW found itself in. Grab parts off the shelf and construct a stripped-down version of the street E46 M3 mated with the suspension and engine from the E46 M3 GTR.

The seats, non-multifunction steering wheel, trim, center console, radio, HVAC controls, and no floor mats appear to be exclusive bits. Only one button for DSC, too. Does anyone know if the shift knob is different from the standard E46 M3?

The HVAC controls aren't exclusive to the GTR, they came on CSLs without aircon and some standard 3 series as well.

Came across a great compilation of the E46 M3 GTR technical specifications and race results by Rainer Nyberg. Source of the article: Link
