    Well.... the CSL was a production consumer car and the GTR was a homologation car.

    This is what I figured given the time crunch BMW found itself in. Grab parts off the shelf and construct a stripped-down version of the street E46 M3 mated with the suspension and engine from the E46 M3 GTR.
