I visited PTG three times in 3-4 years, arranged by BMWCCA. They campaigned the E46 M3 for BMWNA until the end of its time in ALMS. They also hosted the BMWNA historic race car collection. All of that was transitioned to Rahal IIRC in ~2007. The PTG shifted to a Panoz focus. I'm not sure what they are doing these days. IIRC there was a name change (?).

Keep in mind that PTG was shipped stripped gray chassis which were then further stripped for weight and built up from scratch. Suspensions and brake systems varied among them.

This doesn't count those raced in Europe.
Are you able to visit PTG? Or do you have to know someone?

For anyone who hasn't seen yet, BMW M division actually applied the NFS: Most Wanted livery to a real GTR for the NFS 30th Anniversary:

30 Years Of NFS: The Most Wanted M3 GTR Is Now A Real-Life BMW Race Car - Speedhunters
The BMW M3 GTR from Need for Speed: Most Wanted

Take that in all of those of you who have dreamed of doing a replica or for all those out there that have tried (successfully or not)

Does anyone know how many units were made of BMW M3 GTR, racecar version? It was difficult to find the numbers anywhere

The guy who made ptg bodykits is still alive, in Ga. He sells carbon and I’m almost 100% sure he makes the carbon for bimmerworld.

Have it look the EXACT same, but not as wide body.

Anyone have pictures of the rear subframe? Wondering if they moved the control arm pick up points since the exhaust is no longer in the way.

A friend of mine drove for Milner and got his feet wet as a team owner from him. Pretty sure when he was a driver it was E36 though. Tommy Milner drove the Z4 M my friend had in Grand Am back in '08, not the whole season but a few races. I got to see the PTG shop but much later on, when it was Panoz. Some of the shop photos actually look familiar.

That’s the car that sold for $200k at an auction several years ago. Pretty cool to see it in action.
