Rogue Engineering Equal Length Sec 1 w/cats Interest Thread

I mentioned in another post that Rogue Engineering will be making a 2.5" equal length Sec 1 similar to the Sunbeam that will work with standard header diameters. With enough interest there's possiblity RE could make them with Cats. Below will be a running list please copy and add your forum name numerical order to make centralizing it on this main post easier.

I doubt they'll use quality cats. I think you'd need to confirm as the majority of buyers are from states that smog test.

The equal length pipes make the car sound like ass. Just saying.

i would take cats but only if they're quality branded ones, ie. HJS or GESI

otherwise, i'd just buy the non-catted version and add them myself

from the clips i've seen the pipes simply add an octave to the exhaust sound for a higher pitched noise. a lot of the clips there are a lot of guys already running obnoxious mufflers on their cars that added these pipes and they end up sounding a slightly higher pitched level of awful but you can't put that on the sunbeam sec1

No reason to buy unless it's been dyno tested imo. I would also like to know the rational behind the design, ie flow simulations and such.

IMO the best way to make an equal length sec 1 is to measure the volume difference between the 1-3 and 4-6 and then compensate for it by adding length to the sec 1 and then flow testing it via simulations.

Feels like we need a like for like dyno and/or some sound clips!

Rouge, historically, has made some power losing exhaust parts

does the el diablo section 3 lose power? i hadn't heard that

That is the one I was referring to.

The original el diablo lost power. RE redesigned it at some point-- I haven't seen any before/after dynos since the redesign, so no idea if it still does.

... and their xpipe kills low/mid range power, as all single pipe solutions do.

I am still 50/50 about this vs just buying HJS cats and having them welded in and then having the section ceramic coated along with the headers.
