Years ago my son had a Chev Cavalier. He was driving on the highway and I got the phone call no one wants. "My engine is starting to make a lot of noise" I got him to stop shortly and when I got there and started it, it sounded like someone was trapped inside the engine with a hammer and he was trying to beat his way out. I thought it was from the top and then from the bottom. It was everywhere.
One good thing about it, I got back into the car hobby again and have probably saved 10 BMWs from scrap.
