Hey Anri,
Don't know if this was covered but with the 70 degree tstat where does the temp needle sit on the gauge cluster?

You can even buy these thermostats from Porsche as they compatible with the Carrera GT.

just to give everyone an update. 70c tstat is great. def keeps temps a lot lower when cruising around the streets. at the track it didnt make a difference of course since the car gets to temp and hot. But it did cool down the motor a lot since it will keep kicking through the radiator up to 70C versus the OEM.
But Im not sure if its the only thing since I also updated the radiator and fan clutch

Good way to argue. Congrats!
On the big racetracks in Germany I haven't really seen a s54 with the viscous still in place.. I wonder why?
btw. I really like to hear actual numbers, on the aftermarket fans we have exact airflow numbers at specific static pressures to compare.
I'm open for discussion, would love to change my mind if I'm not correct! Always interested into learn something new.
In my opinion in no way the viscous fan running at idle could deliver anywhere the same airmass near a good aftermarket fan. You can even hear and feel the difference.. And this is what I'm personally aiming with a electric fan conversion, coming to a stopp or in traffic after spirited drive to bring out the heat.

at 20-30amp depends on the model as far as I know. And if you're willing to do some modification to the cooling package, there are 45amp+ variants available.
But it's not all about the power, blade design is also important.
Depends what efficiency window you aiming, there are different options available, for me it's important to get as much as possible air on a low static air pressure (aka standing) to get the heatsoak/IATs down on the FI s54.
On a racecar this is maybe very different, I don't know I don't really drive on track, just interested in the technical backgrounds.Last edited by S54B32; 10-01-2024, 12:53 AM.
