Out of curiosity, what does this save over a metal (non-sunroof) M3? I might be crazy enough to do this roof and then paint it 😅

Nothing wrong with painting it! I personally prefer painted surfaces too

I am also considering CF roof and painting it. I had CF exposed in the past and I prefer color match slicktop

8-14lbs depending on whose making the CF roof. I personally wouldn't paint the CF roof it's a sexy accent, but if you're going for ultimate weight savings and want to paint makes sense. To each their own. Corrected my previous message, could have swore the slicktop metal was a lot lighter than what I searched.

Negligible pound maybe. The metal sheet is already extremely thin and light.
