    Turtle Roof Rack

I have been looking for a roof rack that fits into the mounting points. But none of the known options seem to be available (oem, thule), and want to avoid the kind that hook over the door jamb, or the trunk mount with all the straps. So I found these Turtle options for sale on Amazon (also saw on Ebay) for $130, and thought I might as well take a flier on these. I have never heard of the brand before, and . I’d say I am surprisingly impressed with these, and think it turned out quite well. Fitment is pretty good, and mounts the Thule bike rack.

Posting some pics to let y’all judge

Only “complaint” is that the rubber part is quite bulky looking

One fitment mod is that for the mount piece to fit, I had to cut off the plastic tab here

Comparison to the BMW OEM (aka Thule) bars I have for the SUV

Not bad. What’s the max weight capacity? I’m kind of considering a roof rack to carry extra wheels and tires to the track. But yea it’s pretty hard to find something reliable and sturdy.

side note, I love when cheap Amazon brands don’t even try to come up with a new name. Thule / Turtle lmao.

That’s probably enough for a simple roof basket and 4 wheels and tires.

You'll be way over. Thule roof basket is 30lbs alone. Lightweight wheel, 20, Average tire, 25lbs - you'll be over 200.

Yea I was rethinking that after I posted. Might be okay if you can fit one or two of them in the car.
